Inter Milan and Bayern Munich are all set for the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal affair, with the home side holding a one-goal advantage.
This is a tough game to call, with both teams capable of winning on the day, but our Inter Milan vs. Bayern Munich predictions are backing the in-form Lautaro Martinez to get his name on the scoresheet.

My best bet: Lautaro Martinez anytime goalscorer (+210 at BetRivers)
My analysis
The home side has the advantage, but it wouldn’t be a shock if either team managed to win under the floodlights of the San Siro. Inter took home a 2-1 lead from the Allianz Arena, but Bayern dominated on the day. They had 59% possession and exactly double Inter’s 10 shots and seven shots on target to Inter’s four. While Inter will be hoping for a low-scoring game, the reality is that with some top goalscorers on display — and a game that could get open — we should see goals.
Our best bet for this game features one of the better finishers playing in this game and somebody who scored a beautiful goal last Tuesday. We’re taking Lautaro Martinez to score at odds of over +200. The Argentine opened the scoring last week with a perfect outside-of-the-boot shot on his right, flying past Jonas Urbig in Bayern’s goal.
Martinez hasn’t been quite as prolific this season with just 12 Serie A goals, compared with 24 last season, but he's had real success in the Champions League. He’s currently on seven goals, his highest ever tally in this competition, and it’s even more impressive given he’s been a substitute in four of his 10 UCL games this campaign.
He leads Inter’s team in shots in this competition, with 18 in 10 games and an average of 2.85 shots per 90 minutes. Unsurprisingly, that also translates to him having the most shots on target, but what’s incredible is that 16 of his 18 shots in the Champions League have found the target. That’s an astonishing level of accuracy, with 2.53 shots on target per 90 minutes played, more than anybody who's played more than eight games in the competition.
He's riding a hot streak in this competition with goals in each of his past four European games, which notably includes the hat trick he bagged against Monaco in the group stages. He also found the back of the net in Inter’s 3-1 win over Cagliari on Saturday and could be a difference maker here.
We know Bayern Munich needs goals to overturn this result, meaning we’re going to see the Bavarians push forward and try to score, which will open up gaps in their defense, which the team should be able to exploit. Martinez, with his excellent move, should be able to profit from.

In addition to the first leg, we’re backing Bayern’s Harry Kane to score. He might not have scored in the first leg, but he’s always the man most likely to score for Bayern. He’s scored 10 goals in the Champions League this season and a further 24 for his club in the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal.
The final leg of the SGP is for Inter’s Nicolo Barella to commit a foul. The Italian is one of his team’s key players, but he can sometimes get into trouble. Per 90 minutes in the Champions League this season, he’s given up an average of 1.19 fouls. Given the importance of this game and the quality of the Bayern team, he’s almost certain to have a difficult game, giving him an increased chance of fouling.
