My analysis
Atlanta United is heavily favored to win on Saturday against a New England Revolution side that has struggled mightily away from home.
The Revs have taken just one point from a possible nine on the road this season and have lost eight of their last nine away matches dating back to last season.
Not only are the Revs not getting results, they’re not getting goals. They’ve scored just four times in that nine-match run and just once this season.
That lone goal came in a 2-1 loss to an NYCFC side that sits bottom-half in the Eastern Conference.
But much like NYCFC, Atlanta United is struggling to defend its goal.
The Five Stripes have conceded 12 times in their opening seven fixtures, having kept a clean sheet just once.
While their 11 goals are among the most in the league so far, the defensive issues have led to just two victories.
Saturday gives them a great chance to pick up all three points while also giving the Revs a chance to find the back of the net.
The Revolution has already underperformed their expected goals by 1.3. Their 1.83 SOT/90 is the worst mark in the league, and they’ll likely see more opportunities here.
