The second Copa America semifinal goes tonight and my Colombia vs. Uruguay predictions have me suddenly craving coffee.

Given the current Copa America odds, there's little to choose between La Celeste and Los Cafeteros, but I've ground the odds in search of the perfect brew.

Read on as I pour some sugar on this Colombia vs Uruguay fixture for Wednesday, July 10.

Colombia vs Uruguay picks, predictions, and betting tips

My best bet:
Colombia to qualify (-102 at Betano)

My analysis
Just last week, I was on Before You Bet with Joe Osborne talking up this Uruguay team and cashing a "to qualify" ticket in their quarterfinal win vs. Brazil.

Well, a few days later, I'm here to tell you that Uruguay are not going to reach the final, and only in sports can you change positions on a team without any major repercussions.

What we saw from Uruguay against Brazil was nothing we didn't expect. They were the better team for 75 minutes before the red card to Nahitan Nandez had them defending for their life and ultimately prevailing in penalty kicks.

I talked in length about how Brazil would struggle without Vinicius Junior, and many were quick to call them out pre-tournament as a team with very little chemistry. Brazil never really threatened Uruguay, but that's going to quickly change on Wednesday.

Colombia are amid a 27-match unbeaten run in all competitions (W21, D6) and just blew five past an incredibly overmatched Panama side.

While that's not exactly the reason for backing Colombia, it paints the picture of a team that are willing to push bodies forward and defend by having the ball and keeping the opposition on the back foot. They are the highest-scoring team in the tournament with 11 goals, and the absence of Ronald Arajuo for Uruguay will give Colombia the advantage.

All things being equal, these are two teams that have earned their spot to battle it out for a spot in the July 14 finals, but with the way Luis Diaz and James Rodriguez are playing right now, I'm not willing to step in front of the Colombians.

Colombia vs Uruguay same-game parlay (SGP)

Colombia to qualify

Colombia to score first

Uruguay team total Under 1.5

Much like every other sport, scoring first in an elimination game gives you a better chance of progressing to the next round, and since I believe Colombia will win this game, scoring first is a no-brainer.

They will be the fresher of the two teams, and I don't see Uruguay troubling them much in the attacking third.
