We’ve got a late kickoff in Saturday’s Premier League slate, with Crystal Palace welcoming Liverpool to Selhurst Park. Just four positions separate the two clubs at the start of the weekend, which is not something that many Liverpool fans would have predicted before the season began.

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool picks and predictions
Both teams come into this game in mixed form. Crystal Palace sit 12th in the table but they haven’t won in eight games across all competitions. Liverpool, meanwhile, won their two previous league games 2-0 but then got smashed 5-2 midweek by Real Madrid, despite holding a two-goal lead at one point.
It’s hard to recommend betting on either team to win at the moment, however, in our hunt for the best bet of this game we need to consider goals. That’s why I’m backing Over 2.5 goals and both teams to score, which is available at odds of +120 and makes a lot of sense from a betting angle.
Despite Palace struggling for wins recently, they have scored in four of their past five in all competitions. They’ve averaged just shy of a goal per game and have conceded over one per game.
Then you have Liverpool who, as we saw midweek, are dangerous in front of goal but all over the place defensively. The likes of Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold have been heralded previously but neither are playing at the level of which they are required currently.
Both teams to score has hit in four of Palace’s past five games, 58.3% of Palace’s games at Selhurst Park in the league, and 54.5% of Liverpool’s games away from Anfield. The trends also show us that there have been Over 2.5 goals in 72.7% of Liverpool’s games on the road, with just one game having below three goals since mid-October.
At +120 we don’t have a massive price but Over 2.5 and both teams to score seems like the smartest bet around for Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool.
My best bet: Over 2.5 and both teams to score (+120 at bet365)

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool side analysis
The home side will play a 4-2-3-1 with Cheik Doucoure and Arsenal loanee Albert Lokonga holding the midfield, battling with Liverpool’s three, and, hopefully for Palace fans, providing a platform for Michael Olise and Jordan Ayew to create chances for Jean Phillipe Mateta.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Eberechi Eze return to the starting lineup here with his ability to travel with the ball being something that could cause Liverpool issues.
For Liverpool, it’s the familiar 4-3-3 and the back four should write itself with Joel Matip now available to play alongside Van Dijk, with Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson at fullback.
The midfield is an issue, with Jordan Henderson and Fabinho looking far from the players that they used to be, with age catching up with them. They’re not as quick as they have been previously, with Fabinho’s limitations being cruelly exposed against Real Madrid last Tuesday.
The young Stefan Bajcetic will be alongside them and almost suffers from the exact opposite, showing in the Champions League that he can sometimes be naïve, especially when receiving the ball from his back four.
We should see Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah, and Cody Gakpo continue to try and find their feet as an attacking three, but we could even see Diogo Jota make a return to the lineup.
There’s still so much attacking talent on display for Liverpool that it’s hard to avoid backing them but given how inconsistent they’ve been recently, you just can’t in all good faith suggest wagering on them to win this one, especially at odds of -135.
Crystal Palace vs Liverpool Over/Under analysis
Given the best bet for this game is Over 2.5 goals and both teams to score, it’s clear that I’d lean towards backing Over 2.5 goals.
In addition to the facts above, it’s worth noting that Palace have seen Over 2.5 goals in 10 of their last 11 at home to Liverpool, with Liverpool scoring at least two in their eight previous games at Selhurst Park.
