My analysis
Turkey would be best to put behind them the nightmare that was the Portugal match. After all, when you lose 3-0 and essentially pass the ball into your own net for one of the goals, there’s not much you can take away from the fixture.
As bettors, we can take quite a bit from it. And one of the things that stood out to me was the play of Kerem Akturkoglu. The 25-year-old winger only played 58 minutes but was one of the few bright spots on a dismal day.
He attempted three shots in less than an hour, including one on target while posting 0.51 xG. This was despite having just 27 touches, six of which came in the Portugal penalty area. And it gave Akturkoglu a shot on target for the fifth time in his last six competitive matches with the national team.
That includes their win over Georgia to open the competition. Despite not starting and playing just six minutes, the Turkish winger was able to score a brilliant goal from about 25 yards out to seal all three points.
During qualifying for the European Championships, Akturkoglu led Turkey in both shots with 17 and shots on goal, putting seven efforts on frame. He averaged 1.07 SoT/90 minutes and found the back of the net twice.
Turkey advances with a point, and they’re likely going to absorb pressure and hit on the break as they did against Portugal. But while the Portuguese had amazing defenders like Pepe, who were able to save them repeatedly, it didn’t prevent Akturkoglu from getting shots off.
He’s going to be part of a four-man assault against the Czechs, and his pace and skill will allow him the chance to test the keeper at least once.
There's a possibility Akturkoglu doesn’t start, but the concerns around Arda Guler make it very likely he will. If he doesn’t, I would pivot to Turkey to take 13 or more shots in this match at even money.

Turkey’s defense hasn’t been the best in this tournament, or before it to be honest. Turkey have kept kept a single clean sheet in their last eight matches in total and are facing a Czech side that must win in order to advance.
That said, they’re lethal on the counter-attack and will likely find a goal of their own, which is why I’m backing both teams to hit the scoresheet.
When they get out on the break, they’ll fire early and often. Despite Portugal being the dominant side, they managed 11 shots in the defeat. That’s after registering 22 attempts against Georgia in one of the most entertaining matches of the competition.
They won’t play as openly as they did in that match, but they’ll top the 11 shots they had last time out against a defense that isn’t as good in transition as Portugal’s.
