Premier League predictions for Everton vs Liverpool
My best bet:
Mohamed Salah anytime goalscorer (-113 at TonyBet)
My analysis
Everton have one of the best home defensive records in the Premier League this campaign, having conceded just 13 goals in 12 matches. That’s the fifth-fewest of any club, as they’ve managed four clean sheets at Goodison Park.
But their final Merseyside Derby before moving to their shiny new stadium won’t see them add a fifth, and Mohamed Salah will be a major reason why.
The Liverpool winger is having a stellar season, and his 21 Premier League goals are just two fewer than Everton have scored this season as a club. He’s also scored in each of his last four matches in all competitions.
There are two major trends in his favor as to why I love him to score on Wednesday at this price. First, he’s been a menace away from Anfield this season. All four of his multi-goal performances in the league have come on the road, with two goals each against Southampton, Newcastle, Tottenham, and last weekend at Bournemouth.
Secondly, in three of those matches — the Newcastle performance being the exception — Salah was coming in having gotten rest. That bodes well for the 32-year-old, as he was one of the stars missing from their upset defeat at the weekend to Plymouth Argyle.
And if that weren’t enough, there’s the fullback crisis at Everton. The Blues are dealing with a long list of injuries, including left back Vitalii Mykolenko.
He will be a matchday decision, having returned to training with a calf injury. Should he be unable to go, the aging Ashley Young would be tasked with handling Salah.

There isn’t much value to be had in the shots market for Salah. You have to bet him to take at least four shots to avoid the heaviest juice, but he’s taken exactly three shots in four of his last five matches.
In fact, he’s attempted 4+ shots in just nine of his 23 matches this season. That said, his price of 2+ shots on target at -114 might be worth a look. He had two efforts on goal against Bournemouth and has 12 matches with multiple accurate efforts this campaign.
But Salah has been massive in the goal department this season for Liverpool and tends to show up in the biggest matches. He’s opened the scoring in two of his last four matches in all competitions, and he’s +300 to do so against Everton. He’s also worth a look to score multiple goals at +320.
Finally, eight of his 13 assists in the Premier League have come away from Anfield. Given Everton’s injury issues, there’s value at +225 for him to notch another assist.
