It’s Liverpool vs. Leeds on Saturday in an unusually late Premier League game. Both teams come into this looking for redemption, having not performed at the level they wanted this year.
Liverpool lost last weekend to newly promoted Nottingham Forest while Leeds have lost four games in a row. Both Jurgen Klopp and Jesse Marsch need their team to get three points here, but will either side find a win?

Liverpool vs Leeds picks and predictions
We’re still in October and it feels like you could write a book about Liverpool’s season. They’ve been decimated by injuries and have already lost three games. Last Saturday, we saw them lose to Nottingham Forest but in truth, Liverpool would win that game nine times out of 10. They had so many chances and were very unlucky to not leave with a point if not three.
Leeds, meanwhile, haven’t performed well. Worryingly, they’ve given up 18 goals this season and have given up five goals in the past two weeks. Even without Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz, there is still a lot of goal-scoring ability in Liverpool’s team, and it’s one of those we’ll be betting on come Saturday.
Darwin Nunez has a unique skill set, and he’s already shown both his brilliance and some of his frustrating shortcomings. He’s still very raw but there’s a huge amount of talent there and he’s scored four goals in seven Premier League appearances. He also comes into this in good form, having scored in the Champions League in the week.
Nunez has a goal record that’s better than one in every two games, and he shoots a lot too, having registered 28 shots in those seven games, the majority of which were in the penalty area.
Against a bad defense like Leeds, you’re getting a decent price at +105 on Nunez scoring, given that he’ll be the main central presence and the focal point of Liverpool’s attack.
My best bet: Darwin Nunez to score (+105 at bet365)

Liverpool vs Leeds side analysis
The back four of Liverpool is writing itself at the moment, with the usual trio of Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Andy Robertson joined by Joe Gomez, who has really impressed in recent weeks. Gomez struggled when he first got back into the team after Joel Matip’s injury but in the past month, he’s improved hugely and is now being talked of a potential England player again at the World Cup.
Thiago and Fabinho will be in the midfield and likely joined by Harvey Elliott, who performed very well against Nottingham Forest last Saturday. That midfield will battle against Marc Roca and Sam Greenwood, and thy should be able to outnumber them unless Brenden Aaronson is able to drop back in and support them before joining breaking attacks.
Liverpool vs Leeds Over/Under analysis
The bookies are certain we’ll see lots of goals on Saturday, with Over 2.5 at -275, which has an implied probability of 73.3%. Given both teams recent performances, it isn’t a shock that the odds are like that.
The Over has landed in 54.5% of Liverpool’s Premier League games this season but only half of their games at Anfield, with both of their two most recent games finishing 1-0 to Liverpool.
Leeds have seen a lot more high-scoring games, with four of their six away games going Over 2.5. Worryingly, Leeds have conceded 12 goals in those six games, which shows just how naïve they can be when they’re on the road. Against a team including Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez, it’s easy to see them shipping a lot of goals.
Backing the Over is the most likely play here but at odds of -275 I’d avoid staying away, it’s one of those bets which should win but it isn’t worth the risk for such a small payoff.
