The Rose Bowl has seen some historic games through the years, but Sunday’s Real Madrid vs AC Milan sees two of the most celebrated teams in European soccer meet in preseason action. Both Real Madrid and AC Milan have won more Champions League trophies than any other teams and combine for a huge 21 cups together. 

Despite those world-famous shirts, we can’t forget that this is a preseason game and we will definitely see both Carlo Ancelotti and Stefano Pioli rotate their teams heavily. That means we’re likely to see players on both benches get on the field, which could lead to a disjointed second half. 

The amount of great players on the pitch, for one team in particular, is one of the main reasons behind my best bet for the game: Real Madrid to win. A victory for Los Blancos comes in at +120, which feels like a good value price given the talent on display.

It’s been a summer of change at Real Madrid with Marco Asensio and Eden Hazard leaving, but the biggest name, and arguably the only one which really does impact this team, is Karim Benzema, who has moved to Saudi Arabia. They may have lost a great striker but they’ve added some of the best young talent on the planet. The brilliant Turkish youngster Arda Guler has arrived, but it’s Jude Bellingham, who’s the most exciting. The 20-year old Englishman has been one of the hottest properties in the game for some time and he’s already one of the best midfielders on the planet despite his relative youth.

Madrid’s adding Bellingham to a midfield that already has stellar names such as Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Eduardo Camavinga. We’re almost certain to see Bellingham make his debut, as well as Guler, Fran Garcia, and Joselu.

Add those names to a team with Rodrygo and Vinicious Jr and you have a seriously dangerous attack, as well as a backline that features Eder Militao, David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger. This is a seriously talented team and anytime you can wager on them winning a game at plus money it’s worth taking — even if it’s a friendly.

AC Milan reached the Champions League semis this past season, but their squad doesn’t reflect a team that’s truly in the Top 4 in Europe. With Real Madrid having so many established talents in their starting lineup, as well as an influx of great young youth players, they now have incredible depth. I think that depth is enough to get them over the line and I’ll be taking that +120 on Real winning this game.

It’s time for a same-game parlay and I’ve got a great +502 wager for Real Madrid vs. AC Milan. Truth be told, I toyed with the idea of including a debut goal for Jude Bellingham but I decided to play it safer.

To start, we’re backing Real Madrid to win. The reasoning is as above; this is a team packed with serious talent and most importantly they have huge depth in their squad which should mean that they’re able to win this game despite a number of substitutions to get everybody time on the field.

Next up we’re backing Real Madrid, the designated home team for this game, to score Over 2.5 goals. They may have lost Benzema, but there’s so much attacking talent on display that they’re very dangerous. Vinicius Jr’s star has risen over the past few years, and it feels like the Brazilian is now among the most famous players on the planet. I’m expecting a big year from him, something that will likely see him start strong in this preseason clash.

The final leg of the same-game parlay is a simple one and perhaps something that seems logical given that I’m backing Real Madrid to score at least three goals, but I’ll also be backing a goal to be scored in both halves.

I said it earlier in this preview. but whenever you see Real Madrid at over +100 it’s something you need to look into. I don’t care if this is just a preseason game, I’m all over Real at +120. There’s a chance we might see rotation hurt the flow of the game, and we could see the players take it easy in this friendly match, but I’m confident that all of their stars will be looking to make a statement given the change that’s occurred at the club.

I always think that preseason games are great for backing Over 2.5 goals, given that players are looking to impress their coaches, while the defenses aren’t as well drilled as they are later in the season. So, I’ll also be backing Over 2.5 goals in this game, which looks a great price at -122.
