NEW YORK -- Austin Bibens-Dirkx pitched seven effective innings and the Texas Rangers scored four times in the ninth inning in an 8-1 victory over the New York Yankees on Saturday afternoon.

A little over a month after being the oldest pitcher in Rangers history to make his first major league start, Bibens-Dirkx allowed one run and five hits and tied a career high by pitching seven innings.

The 32-year-old right-hander, who waited 12 seasons to make his major league debut May 17, struck out three, walked one and threw 93 pitches.

Bibens-Dirkx (3-0) made one mistake and it was a 1-1 fastball that Aaron Judge hit 439 feet over the left-center field fence for his major-league-leading 26th homer with one out in the sixth.

Other than the Judge homer, Bibens-Dirkx pitched quickly for a team which leads the majors with 14 blown saves.

In the seventh, he needed just two pitches to get the three outs. After a single by Didi Gregorius, Tyler Austin bounced into a double play and Ronald Torreyes flied out to right.

Carlos Gomez hit a two-run homer in the fourth off Luis Cessa (0-2) and Robinson Chirinos hit a solo homer in the seventh off Jonathan Holder.

Shin-Soo Choo added a two-run double off struggling reliever Tyler Clippard in the ninth. Elvis Andrus had a pair of run-scoring hits with a single in the first and a double in the ninth.

Adrian Beltre singled in the first and doubled in the sixth. He is 36 hits away from the 31st player to reach 3,000 hits.

Cessa allowed three runs and three hits in five innings as the Yankees lost for the ninth time in 11 games.

The Rangers took a 1-0 lead in the first when Delino DeShields walked, stole second and scored on a single by Andrus. The lead reached 3-0 in the fourth when Gomez drove a 1-2 slider into the left field seats.

Folllowing Judge's latest homer, Chirinos became the sixth Ranger to reach 10 homers when he opened the seventh by hitting a 3-1 fastball over the left-center fence.

The Rangers added their fifth run when Gomez scored on a wild pitch by Clippard in the ninth. Choo then made it 7-1 with a double and Andrus capped the scoring with another double.
