SAN FRANCISCO -- Daniel Gossett limited the Giants to three hits over seven innings and got the help of resurgent Ryon Healy as the Oakland A's beat up on San Francisco 6-1 on Wednesday in the third game of annual Bay Bridge Series.
Gossett, knocked out of the game in the fourth inning in his previous start, didn't allow a hit until Hunter Pence's double in the fifth inning that set up the Giants' run on a Gorkys Hernandez fly ball.
Gossett wound up allowing one run while walking two and striking out five, leading Oakland to a second win in three games against San Francisco.
The Giants had a chance for more, but rookie left fielder Chad Pinder's sprinting catch in left-center ended the inning, and San Francisco didn't get another runner in to scoring position against Gossett (3-6).
Healy came into the game with a .190 average over his past 34 games, but he singled to start a two-run rally in the second inning, then clubbed a two-run homer in the third. That ended a streak of 24 games without a home run for Healy, the longest such drought of his career.
Jed Lowrie doubled twice for the A's, the second one in the seventh inning driving in one run before he scored on a Pinder single.
Giants right-hander Matt Moore came into the game with a 5.74 ERA and didn't appreciably help himself in the early going.
A second-inning single to Healy and a walk to Pinder set up an RBI double off the center field wall from rookie Matt Chapman. Moore's second walk of the inning, to Matt Joyce, loaded the bases still with no one out, and a Ryan Lavarnway double-play grounder brought a second run home.
That started a run of four consecutive batters retired for Moore, but with two out in the third, Lowrie walked and Healy followed with his career-high 20th home run as he showed signs of breaking out of a long drought.
Healy had not homered since June 28.
Gossett stumbled in the fifth, beginning with a walk to Brandon Crawford, who drew three in the game. Pence doubled and Hernandez brought Crawford home with a sacrifice fly as San Francisco climbed within 4-1.
Moore (3-11) gave up four runs on six hits in five innings.
