LOS ANGELES -- Corey Seager had three hits, Cody Bellinger two RBIs and Rich Hill recorded his seventh straight quality outing as the Los Angeles Dodgers continued their winning ways with a 2-1 decision over the San Francisco Giants on Saturday.
The Dodgers' seventh straight win moved them 42 games over .500 at a major league-best 73-31. The franchise record for most games over .500 is 42, set by the 1974 Dodgers (102-60). They are 38-6 since June 7 and 25-3 in their last 28 home games.
Hill (8-4) allowed one run on two hits in 5 2/3 innings, retiring the first 11 Giants he faced. In his last 43 innings, Hill has allowed 27 hits, eight earned runs (1.67 ERA) and struck out 52. He has won four of his last five starts after opening the season with a 1-3 mark.
Hunter Pence hit a fourth-inning home run, his seventh, for the only run against Hill. The left-hander only ran into trouble once. After walking Brandon Crawford in the fifth, he picked him off first. Gorkys Hernandez later singled and advanced to third on an error by Chris Taylor, but Hill struck out pitcher Ty Blach to end the threat.
Blach (6-7) allowed eight hits but stranded seven Dodgers in his seven innings of work.
The Dodgers grabbed a quick lead in the first inning as Seager laced a one-out double to right field and scored on Bellinger's single to right.
The same combination made it 2-0 in the third. Seager led off with another double to right, went to third on a Justin Turner fly ball and scored on a Bellinger single.
Hill had a perfect game two outs into the fourth when he gave up a home run to Pence to left field to trim the margin.
Hill was pulled for reliever Pedro Baez, who got Pence to fly out. Baez pitched a perfect seventh, Josh Fields and Luis Avilan combined in the eighth, and Kenley Jansen worked around two hits and a walk in the ninth for his 27th save of the season.
