NEW YORK -- Didi Gregorius, Greg Bird and Todd Frazier homered as the New York Yankees continued their production against the Baltimore Orioles with a 9-3 victory on Saturday.
Gregorius and Bird homered for the second straight game by hitting three-run homers off Jeremy Hellickson (2-5) in the third and fourth innings. Frazier capped the scoring with a long-two run homer in the seventh off Donnie Hart.
Jacoby Ellsbury contributed three hits, including an RBI single off Chris Tillman.
The Yankees beat the Orioles for the 12th time in 18 meetings and sixth straight time at home. New York has scored 150 runs against the Orioles, setting the major league record for the most runs scored by any team against an opponent since 1961.
The previous mark was 146 scored by the 2002 Arizona Diamondbacks against the Colorado Rockies.
The home runs also put the Yankees eight shy of their highest single-season total against any team since 1956 (158 runs vs. the Kansas City Athletics in 1956).
More importantly, those home runs gave the Yankees a 12th win in 16 games since they were swept in a three-game series at home by the Cleveland Indians Aug. 28-30.
Yankees left-hander Jordan Montgomery (8-7) allowed four hits in six innings.
Hellickson lasted three-plus innings and allowed six runs on four hits.
Austin Hays hit his first career homer in the ninth as the Orioles lost for the ninth time in 10 games. Tim Beckham scored on a balk by Giovanny Gallegos after Chasen Shreve loaded the bases by allowing three walks.
The Yankees took a 3-0 lead as Hellickson lost the strike zone by issuing consecutive walks to Chase Headley and Aaron Judge with two outs in the third. Two pitches after Judge drew his 113th walk, Gregorius blasted a 1-0 pitch into the right field seats.
New York doubled its lead when the fourth began with a double by Ellsbury and a walk by Todd Frazier. Bird then hit a 2-2 pitch about halfway up the second deck in right field to knock out Hellickson.
The Yankees took a 7-0 lead when Ellsbury singled with two on against Tillman. Frazier drove a 1-0 breaking ball over the center field wall with two outs in the seventh to cap the scoring.
