Mark Trumbo hit a first-inning grand slam and Dylan Bundy struck out eight batters over 6 1/3 innings as the visiting Baltimore Orioles held on for a 7-5 interleague victory over the Atlanta Braves on Saturday.
Chris Davis added a three-run double in the fifth inning as the Orioles picked up their seventh consecutive victory over the Braves going back to 2012. Zach Britton pitched the ninth inning for his first save.
The Braves' Nick Markakis drove in three runs against his former team. He had an RBI single in the first inning and a two-run double in the seventh but struck out looking with the tying run on base in the eighth.
The Orioles, who entered play Saturday with the worst record in baseball, scored 17 runs in consecutive games after registering six in the ninth inning Saturday and three more in the 15th for a 10-7 victory. Baltimore also entered with the worst run support for their starting pitchers in baseball.
Bundy (6-7) held the National League East leaders to two runs on seven hits with two walks. Staked to a 4-0 lead before throwing his first pitch, Bundy gave up the first-inning RBI to Markakis and an RBI single by Ozzie Albies in the fifth inning.
Braves starter Julio Teheran (5-5) gave up seven runs over 4 2/3 innings with six hits and three walks. He has lost both of his career starts against the Orioles, and has given up 12 total runs in those outings. He did not last five innings in either start.
Teheran threw six no-hit innings with 11 strikeouts against the San Diego Padres in his previous outing. That was his return from the disabled list because of a right thumb contusion.
The Orioles used two walks and a double from Adam Jones in front of Trumbo's grand slam to take a 4-0 lead four batters into the game.
Bundy helped start a fifth-inning rally with a single, his first major league hit. Singles by Colby Rasmus and Jones loaded the bases for Davis' bases-clearing double off the top of the right field wall.
The Braves, who have not had a winning record in interleague play since 2013, are 4-5 against the American League this season. The Orioles are 6-8 in interleague play this season.
The game was slowed by a 20-minute rain delay in the seventh inning.
