Brandon Crawford broke a fifth-inning tie with a two-run home run and four San Francisco pitchers combined on a six-hitter Monday night in a 5-2 victory that extended the Arizona Diamondbacks' road losing streak to 20 games.
Carson Kelly homered for the Diamondbacks, who have not won a road game since April 25 in Atlanta. Arizona took its 11th consecutive loss overall.
Crawford's homer came after the teams had exchanged single runs, the Giants scoring in the third on an RBI double by Brandon Belt, and the Diamondbacks drawing even in the fourth on a run-scoring double by Kelly.
As he had done in the third inning, Donovan Solano doubled to set the stage in the fifth. Crawford followed with his go-ahead shot off Arizona starter Matt Peacock (2-4).
The homer was Crawford's 15th of the season.
Peacock was pulled after he completed the fifth inning. He allowed three runs and 10 hits, with three walks and three strikeouts.
Kelly's homer, his eighth of the year, came in the sixth and closed the gap to 3-2. But the Diamondbacks couldn't score again against Giants starter Alex Wood (6-3) and relievers Dominic Leone, Tyler Rogers and Jake McGee.
Wood worked the first six innings, during which he limited Arizona to two runs on four hits. He walked one and struck out seven.
McGee needed just nine pitches to throw a scoreless ninth for his 13th save.
San Francisco tacked on in the eighth against the Arizona bullpen, opening a three-run cushion on a run-scoring single by Austin Slater and a sacrifice fly by Crawford, capping a three-RBI night.
Curt Casali had three hits, while Crawford, Solano and Belt collected two apiece for the Giants, who improved to 3-0 against Arizona this season. Solano scored two of San Francisco's five runs.
Kelly wound up 3-for-4 for the Diamondbacks, who were out-hit 14-6.
