Rookie Dominic Fletcher hit a three-run triple and a two-run home run to lead the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 7-2 win over the San Francisco Giants in Phoenix on Saturday.
Fletcher, who hit the first home run of his major league career in Friday's win over the Giants, produced his first triple when the Diamondbacks sent eight batters to the plate in the sixth.
His two-run home run off Tristan Beck was part of a three-run rally in the eighth.
San Francisco starter Anthony DeSclafani (3-3) allowed only two hits through the first five innings before the Diamondbacks forced his exit in the sixth.
Jose Herrera singled to start the inning, Josh Rojas followed with a double and Ketel Marte reached on an infield single to load the bases with no outs. Scott Alexander relieved DeSclafani and promptly threw a wild pitch that allowed Herrera to score and tie the game at 1-1.
With two outs and the bases loaded after Christian Walker was intentionally walked, Fletcher followed with a triple to right-center field that cleared the bases.
Fletcher is batting .462 with 13 RBIs since his promotion from Triple-A Reno on April 30.
Zac Gallen (6-1) settled down after giving up a run in the first inning, allowing two runs on five hits in 7 2/3 innings, with six strikeouts and two walks.
The Giants struck in the first inning. Leadoff hitter Thairo Estrada reached first base safely after striking out because of a wild pitch by Gallen. Estrada moved to third base on LaMonte Wade Jr.'s single with one out. He scored on a sacrifice fly to right field by J.D. Davis.
Gallen proceeded to retire 18 of the next 21 batters he faced entering the eighth inning.
Wilmer Flores' RBI double with two outs in the eighth cut the lead to 4-2.
Gallen was then relieved by Andrew Chafin, who got Wade to ground out to first base to end the inning.
