Rowdy Tellez went 3-for-5 with two RBIs, Jason Delay hit a three-run double and the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Colorado Rockies 8-2 on Sunday in Denver.
Jared Triolo added two hits and drove in a pair of runs for Pittsburgh, which also received two hits from Andrew McCutchen, Nick Gonzales and Jack Suwinski. Oneil Cruz singled and doubled in his return to the lineup after missing two games with ankle soreness.
Bryan Reynolds singled to extend his hitting streak to 14 games as the Pirates pounded out 15 hits to win two of three in the series.
Nolan Jones had three hits and Jacob Stallings contributed two hits for Colorado, which has lost five of its last six home games.
The Pirates jumped out to a lead in the second inning when Triolo doubled with two outs and scored on Jack Suwinski's single. Suwinski was thrown out trying to steal second to end the frame.
Pittsburgh starter Josh Fleming held Colorado to a pair of hits through the first four innings before giving up two singles to lead off the fifth. Carmen Mlodzinski, Friday night's starter, relieved Fleming and got Hunter Goodman to hit into a double play and Adael Amador to ground out to first to escape the fifth with no damage.
Fleming struck out two and didn't walk a batter in four-plus innings and Mlodzinski (1-2) got the win with two innings of relief.
The Pirates added to their lead in the sixth. Dakota Hudson gave up a pair of one-out singles and both moved up when Tellez grounded out to first against reliever Victor Vodnik.
Triolo singled in both runners to make it 3-0. Suwinski singled and Michael A. Taylor walked to load the bases. Delay ripped a bases-clearing double to the gap in right field to cap the five-run inning.
Hudson (2-9) allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out five in 5 1/3 innings.
Tellez added a two-run single in the seventh to extend the lead. Colorado avoided the shutout when Stallings scored on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the seventh, and Jones had an RBI single in the ninth.
