Mike Moustakas and Orlando Arcia hit solo home runs and the visiting Milwaukee Brewers beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-1 on Saturday night for their sixth straight loss.
Brewers starter Zach Davies (2-0) threw seven innings in the second game of the three-game series, allowing one run and eight hits. He struck out six and didn't walk a batter while lowering his ERA to 1.53. Davies benefited from three double plays in the first five innings.
Dodgers left-hander Caleb Ferguson (0-1) came out of the bullpen to make his fourth major league start and went 2 2/3 innings, allowing one run and four hits.
Ferguson had an easy first inning before Moustakas hit the first pitch of the second over the fence in center for a 1-0 lead.
Dennis Santana relieved Ferguson with two outs in the third and walked Jesus Aguilar to load the bases, but struck out Travis Shaw to escape the jam.
Arcia led off the fourth by lifting a 2-2 pitch over the wall in left to make it 2-0.
Cody Bellinger hit his National League-leading ninth home run of the season to cut the deficit to 2-1 in the fourth. It was the 28th straight game with a home run at Dodger Stadium for Los Angeles.
Brewers catcher Yasmani Grandal was hit in the foot by a curveball from Santana to lead off the fifth. Moustakas dropped a broken-bat single into right, and Aguilar walked on four pitches to load the bases with no outs. Shaw followed with a line drive off the glove of outstretched first baseman Max Muncy, scoring Grandal and Moustakas to make it 4-1.
The Dodgers put their leadoff batter on base in the second, third and fifth, but Davies got Los Angeles to roll into double plays to end each of those innings.
Davies retired the side in order in the sixth and seventh innings before Junior Guerra pitched a perfect eighth and ninth for the first save of his five-year major league career.
Brewers right fielder Christian Yelich went 0-for-5, ending his streak of reaching base safely at 27 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the NL.
