The Atlanta Braves broke out for their biggest inning of the season in Saturday’s rousing come-from-behind victory.

With a healthy Jair Jurrjens on the hill, Atlanta may not need any late-inning heroics on Sunday.

Jurrjens takes the mound seeking to win a fourth straight decision as the NL East-leading Braves wrap up a three-game series with the Florida Marlins.

The Braves scored eight runs in the eighth inning on Saturday en route to a 10-5 victory. Brooks Conrad’s pinch-hit grand slam was the back-breaking blow, as Atlanta won for the just fourth time (4-33) when trailing after seven innings.

The way Jurrjens (3-3, 4.25 ERA) has been pitching since his return, they might not have to worry about trailing in the late innings. The 24-year-old right-hander is 3-0 with a 2.19 ERA in four starts since returning from the DL.

On Tuesday, he allowed just one run and five hits in seven innings of a 4-1 win over San Diego.

Jurrjens went 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA in three starts against the Marlins last season.

Aside from the boost provided by Jurrjens' return, the Braves also are benefiting from the re-emergence of Jason Heyward.

The Rookie of the Year candidate went 3-for-3 with two runs scored on Saturday and is hitting .500 (15-for-30) during an eight-game hitting streak. Overall, Heyward is batting .441 (15-for-34) since returning from the disabled list on July 15.

He had been slowed by a lingering injury to his left thumb.

Heyward has yet to face Chris Volstad (4-8, 4.78), who will be recalled from Triple-A to make his first start since July 6. The right-hander started the season in the rotation, but was demoted after going 1-6 with a 5.22 ERA in his last 11 outings.

Volstad will work on short rest after throwing 70 pitches Wednesday in the minors. He is getting a second shot after Nate Robertson was designated for assignment on Wednesday.

Volstad is 1-2 with a 4.30 ERA in four starts against Atlanta, but has yet to face them this season.

The Marlins have been playing well despite Saturday’s meltdown. Florida is 6-3 on a 10-game homestand that ends Sunday.

Marlins second baseman Dan Uggla homered in Saturday’s loss and is 8-for-17 with three homers in his last four games against the Braves. He is 7-for-17 against Jurrjens.

Uggla’s name has been mentioned in trade rumors, but he could stay put now that the Marlins have shown some life lately.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
