New York @ Oakland preview

Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum

Last Meeting ( May 20, 2016 ) NY Yankees 8, Oakland 3

The New York Yankees look to extend their season-high winning streak to four games when they continue their four-game series against the host Oakland Athletics on Saturday afternoon. New York improved to 3-2 on its seven-game road trip with an 8-3 victory Friday in which CC Sabathia returned from a groin injury to toss six strong innings.

Carlos Beltran has hit safely in four of the five games on the trek, going 5-for-10 with six RBIs in the first two contests in Oakland. The Athletics managed only six hits in Friday's defeat and have scored a total of four runs over the first two games of the series after crossing the plate eight times in each of their previous two contests. Oakland is without Josh Reddick, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured left thumb Friday and will visit a hand specialist Monday to determine the length of his absence. Reddick became the 12th member of the Athletics to land on the DL, the team's highest total at one time in nearly 40 years.

Tanaka has yet to lose to Oakland, going 2-0 while allowing three runs - two earned - and seven hits over 13 2/3 innings in two career starts.

Manaea recorded his first major-league victory Monday as he limited Texas to one run and four hits in 6 2/3 innings. The 24-year-old native of Indiana was pounded for eight runs and 10 hits over 2 2/3 frames in his previous outing May 10 at Boston. Manaea has made three of his four career starts at home, going 1-0 with a 4.86 ERA.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
