Cincinnati @ Colorado preview
Coors Field
Last Meeting ( May 30, 2016 ) Cincinnati 11, Colorado 8
The Cincinnati Reds haven't experienced much joy on the road this season, but a visit to Coors Field quickly brightened the outlook. Cincinnati belted five home runs in an 11-8 series-opening victory over the Colorado Rockies and looks to continue the power display when the teams meet Tuesday for the second contest of their four-game set.
Adam Duvall posted his first two-homer performance in the major leagues and Joey Votto registered career blast No. 200 as the Reds racked up a season-high 17 hits while improving to 5-19 on the road. The victory was just the third in Cincinnati's last 18 overall games as the club flounders with the third-worst record in the majors. The Rockies have lost three consecutive contests as their pitching has been atrocious, giving up 29 runs and 50 hits during the skid. Colorado's Charlie Blackmon has been a bright spot as he has reached base in a career-best 25 consecutive games while batting .315 this month.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Reds RH Jon Moscot (0-2, 4.02 ERA) vs. Rockies RH Jon Gray (2-2, 5.95)
Moscot will be activated from the disabled list prior to Tuesday's game after scattering four hits over six scoreless innings in his final rehab start at Triple-A Louisville. He has been sidelined since injuring his non-throwing shoulder during a start against the New York Mets on April 27, the same shoulder on which he had season-ending surgery last year. Moscot has limited opposing batters to a .224 average this campaign but has walked nine in only 15 2/3 innings.
Gray has allowed two runs or fewer in four of his last five starts but was torched for nine runs in 3 1/3 innings by St. Louis in the other outing. He defeated Boston in his last turn, when he gave up two runs and five hits in 7 1/3 frames. Gray is 1-0 with a 7.47 ERA in three starts at Coors Field this season and 1-1 with a 7.93 ERA in eight career home outings.
