Last Meeting ( May 10, 2013 ) Milwaukee 3, Cincinnati 4

Brandon Phillips leads the National League in RBIs and added to his total with two more Friday, but it was the second baseman's glove that had everyone buzzing in the Cincinnati Reds' 4-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. Phillips' highlight-reel double play, in which he snared a ball barehanded and tagged second base with his knee before throwing to first, snuffed out a Milwaukee rally and helped the Reds earn their major league-high 14th home win entering Saturday's game.

Milwaukee is in danger of falling out of the National League Central Division race, falling to 1-7 in its last eight after dropping the opener of a rugged 10-game road trip. The Brewers do have a chance to make up ground since their next nine games will be against the three teams sitting above them in the division. Ryan Braun homered Friday to extend his hitting streak to 11 games and Norichika Aoki had his sixth multi-hit contest in the last seven games to lift his average to .301.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Brewers RH Hiram Burgos (1-0, 3.00 ERA) vs. Reds RH Mat Latos (3-0, 2.23)

Burgos was skipped a turn because of multiple off-days and enters Saturday's game with nine days of rest between starts. The 25-year-old rookie from Puerto Rico is coming off his longest outing, going seven innings and yielding two runs on four hits in seven innings against Pittsburgh. Burgos has held opponents to a total of six runs and 13 hits over 18 innings in his three starts, but he has surrendered three homers in his last two outings.

Latos overcame illness to win his third straight start last time out, working a season-low five innings and allowing three runs on six hits. He had a career high-tying 21-inning scoreless streak snapped in that game, but has yet to allow more than three runs in seven starts. Latos is 1-2 with a 2.34 ERA in five starts against the Brewers and has limited their lineup to a .181 batting average. Carlos Gomez is 4-for-9 with a pair of homers against him.

WALK-OFFS

1. Phillips homered and had a run-scoring single Friday to give him 31 RBIs.

2. Braun is 1-for-14 with five strikeouts lifetime against Latos.

3. "That's the best double play I've ever seen." - Reds manager Dusty Baker on Phillips' sensational play Friday.

PREDICTION: Reds 5, Brewers 2

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
