Jacob Turner looks for his first career road victory Sunday when the Miami Marlins face the San Francisco Giants, who have lost three of their last five. Turner is 0-10 lifetime in 17 road starts, but he’s taking on a Giants team that has dropped 11 of its last 13 games against the Marlins at home. Right fielder Giancarlo Stanton homered in Saturday’s 5-0 win and is batting .319 (22-for-69) with nine doubles, five home runs and 12 RBIs in 17 career games at AT&T Park.

The Giants received a scare Saturday when center fielder Angel Pagan appeared to injure his left shoulder while attempting to make a diving catch, but he remained in the game and finished 0-for-4. San Francisco can ill afford to lose Pagan, who is hitting .321 with 15 RBIs and will be reevaluated before Sunday’s contest. “He’s done a great job,” manager Bruce Bochy told SFGate.com. “He’s played great on both sides.”

PITCHING MATCHUP: Marlins RH Jacob Turner (0-1, 6.75 ERA) vs. Giants RH Ryan Vogelsong (1-2, 4.22)

Turner’s struggles continued against the Dodgers last Sunday, when he allowed five runs (four earned) over 5 1/3 innings. The 22-year-old, who is winless in his last 16 starts since last July, has made three starts since spending a month on the disabled list with a sprained right shoulder. Turner recorded a quality start against the Giants last June 22, when he received a no-decision after allowing one run over seven innings.

After posting a 0.89 ERA in his three previous outings, Vogelsong allowed four runs in six innings against Atlanta last Tuesday. The 2011 All-Star matched his career high with eight strikeouts, but he took the loss when the Braves scored three runs in the sixth and cruised to a 5-0 victory. Stanton is 4-for-12 with two homers against Vogelsong, who is 2-3 with a 2.35 ERA in eight career games (four starts) against the Marlins.

1. The Giants have allowed only two unearned runs in their last 11 games.

2. Marlins 1B Garrett Jones is batting .391 (9-for-23) during his six-game hitting streak.

3. San Francisco RHP Tim Hudson, who was scratched from his last start with a strained left hip, said he expects to make his next scheduled start May 22 against Colorado.
