Los Angeles @ Atlanta preview

Turner Field

Last Meeting ( Aug 19, 2012 ) LA Dodgers 5, Atlanta 0

The Atlanta Braves were the hottest team in baseball to start the season. Now they are barely hanging on to first place in the National League East. Slumping Atlanta enters Friday’s opener of a three-game set against the Los Angeles Dodgers having lost five of six contests, and the Washington Nationals are just a half-game behind the Braves in the division race. The Dodgers are in last place in the NL West but have won four of their last five games.

Los Angeles' Matt Kemp still isn’t hitting for power but brings a 14-game hitting streak into the series. Kemp is batting .328 during the stretch, but 16 of his 19 hits have been singles. His only home run of the season came on April 24. Kemp has five collected RBIs during his hitting streak to raise his season count to 15. Atlanta is just 10-17 after opening the campaign with 12 wins in 13 games. Atlanta's Justin Upton has belted 13 homers but has gone deep just once in the last 17 games. Upton has just four RBIs in May.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
