Last Meeting ( May 13, 2013 ) Chi. White Sox 3, Minnesota 10

All of a sudden the Minnesota Twins are putting up some impressive offensive numbers. That trend will be tested Tuesday when they take aim at Chicago White Sox right-hander Jake Peavy, who has had his way against Minnesota, in the second of three games at Target Field. The Twins had seven extra-base hits in a 10-3 rout in the series opener, scoring in double digits for the second time in six games and moving back above .500.

Even including a shutout loss Sunday against Baltimore, Minnesota is averaging nearly seven runs a game during a 6-3 stretch. Rookie Aaron Hicks had two homers and Justin Morneau drove in four runs in Tuesday's victory. The White Sox, who are 0-3 against their American League Central rivals, have lost six of nine while averaging just 2.9 runs.

PITCHING MATCHUP: White Sox RH Jake Peavy (4-1, 3.03 ERA) vs. RH Kevin Correia (4-2, 3.09)

After missing one turn through the rotation, Peavy returned Wednesday to throw 6 2/3 solid innings and beat the New York Mets. Peavy allowed just one run and three hits while striking out six. The veteran right-hander is 3-0 with a 1.98 ERA in his last four starts since his only non-quality start April 9 at Washington. Peavy, who is 4-1 with a 1.57 ERA at Target Field, sports a sparkling 45 strikeouts against eight walks in 38 2/3 innings.

Correia has taken a page from Peavy's book by dominating at Target Field early in his Twins career. He is 3-0 with a 1.86 mark at home this year, including eight scoreless against Texas in his last outing in Minneapolis. Correia labored at times Thursday in Boston but was able to limit the Red Sox to three runs in 5 1/3 innings to pick up the victory. He gave up a season-high nine hits but did not walk a batter for the first time in 2013. Correia has never faced the White Sox.

WALK-OFFS

1. Twins LF Josh Willingham is 1-for-18 with five strikeouts against Peavy.

2. Minnesota's three-game winning streak in the series comes on the heels of a 6-22 stretch against Chicago.

3. Twins C Joe Mauer is batting .447 during a 12-game hitting streak.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
