Arizona @ Miami preview
Marlins Park
Last Meeting ( May 18, 2013 ) Arizona 1, Miami 0
The Arizona Diamondbacks have taken over first place in the National League West with little resistance from the Miami Marlins, who aren't scoring much these days. Arizona will try to complete a three-game sweep and win its fifth straight contest when it visits Miami on Sunday. After recording 16 hits in Friday's 9-2 victory, the Diamondbacks needed only four to back Brandon McCarthy's three-hitter in Saturday's 1-0 win. The Marlins have lost a season-high seven straight.
Miami has been shut out eight times this season and owns a record of 11-32 - the worst in the majors. The Marlins on Sunday will give the ball to Ricky Nolasco, who has lost three straight decisions. Miami, which has the least potent offense in the majors at 2.7 runs per game, has scored 19 in Nolasco's nine starts. Nolasco will oppose 2012 National League Rookie of the Year runner-up Wade Miley, who has lost two of his last three outings.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Diamondbacks LH Wade Miley (3-2, 3.75 ERA) vs. Marlins RH Ricky Nolasco (2-5, 4.39)
Miley allowed seven runs - the second-highest total in his career - and two homers over five innings in Arizona's 10-1 loss to Atlanta on Monday. The 26-year-old has issued 19 walks in 48 innings after yielding 37 over 194 2/3 frames in 2012. Miley recorded four straight quality starts to begin the season before walking seven in 4 1/3 scoreless innings against Colorado. Miley never has pitched against Miami, but the Marlins players he has faced are 1-for-24 against him.
Nolasco has excellent control with 13 walks in 53 1/3 innings, but two of those helped ruin his last start. He walked consecutive batters with the bases loaded before yielding a three-run double to the next hitter in Miami's 6-2 loss to Cincinnati on Tuesday. The 30-year-old allowed one run and four hits in his previous start, but the offense fired blanks in a 1-0 loss at San Diego on May 8. Nolasco is 5-2 with a 4.62 ERA in eight career starts against Arizona. Martin Prado is 14-for-40 versus Nolasco.
WALK-OFFS
1. Arizona's Gerardo Parra homered on the first pitch of Saturday's game. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, it was the first time in which the only run scored came on a home run on the game's first pitch since Sept. 14, 1993, when Carlos Garcia accomplished the feat for the Pirates against the Marlins.
2. Parra is third in the National League in hits with 55, trailing Milwaukee's Jean Segura (57) and Cincinnati's Joey Votto (56).
3. Miami RHP Ryan Webb pitched 1 1/3 innings of relief Saturday to stretch his career-best scoreless streak to 16 2/3 frames over his last 12 appearances.
