Coors Field

Last Meeting ( May 21, 2013 ) Arizona 4, Colorado 5

The Colorado Rockies are starting to prove they belong with the big boys in the National League West. The Rockies will try for their fifth win in six games when they host the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday in the rubber match of their three-game series. Colorado is 4-2 on its seven-game homestand against San Francisco and Arizona following a 5-4 victory in 10 innings over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday in which the Rockies regrouped after blowing a 4-0 lead.

Arizona is tied with San Francisco for first place - one game ahead of Colorado - despite losing two of its last three games. The Diamondbacks will give the ball to red-hot Trevor Cahill, who is 3-1 with a 1.36 ERA in his last five outings. He will face Jorge De La Rosa, who has won his last three starts but wasn't sharp in his last outing. The duo faced each other in back-to-back starts last month, with each earning a victory. Troy Tulowitzki homered Tuesday and is hitting .394 at home.

Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez are a combined 4-for-21 against Cahill, but Dexter Fowler is 5-for-10 with two triples.

De La Rosa allowed five runs and nine hits in five innings, but was the winner as Colorado held off San Francisco 10-9 on Friday. In his previous two starts, the 32-year-old allowed five hits in 13 shutout innings in victories at St. Louis and against the Mets. De La Rosa has won all three of his home starts with a 2.65 ERA and 1.06 WHIP. De Le Rosa is 7-4 with a 2.28 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and .212 batting average against in 18 appearances - 14 starts - versus Arizona.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
