Last Meeting ( May 21, 2013 ) Seattle 0, LA Angels 12

Mike Trout became the sixth-youngest player in major-league history to hit for the cycle Tuesday as the Los Angeles Angels routed the visiting Seattle Mariners 12-0. The two-game series concludes Wednesday with Seattle looking to break a five-game skid. Trout had five RBIs and homered in the eighth inning to complete the cycle at the age of 21 years, 288 days. New York Giants legend Mel Ott is the youngest at 20 years, 75 days in 1929.

Trout is the sixth player in Angels history to hit for the cycle, with Chone Figgins (2006) being the most recent. Trout is the youngest player to hit for the cycle since Cesar Cedeno (21 years, 159 days) accomplished the feat for the Houston Astros in 1972. Seattle rookie starter Brandon Maurer grew up in Costa Mesa, less than 15 miles away from Angel Stadium. He will be attempting to silence a hot-hitting team that had nine extra-base hits Tuesday and has scored 30 runs during a three-game winning streak.

Wilson has lost three straight starts despite allowing seven earned runs in 20 innings during the stretch. He defeated the Mariners on April 26 when he allowed three runs and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings. Control has been an issue as Wilson has walked four or more batters on five occasions and 30 overall in 55 2/3 innings. He is 12-5 with a 3.93 ERA against Seattle in 51 appearances (14 starts).

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
