AT&T Park

Last Meeting ( May 25, 2013 ) Colorado 5, San Francisco 6

After suffering a heartbreaking loss, the Colorado Rockies look to bounce back in Sunday’s series finale against the San Francisco Giants. Colorado led 4-0 before the Giants capped their seventh walk-off win this season with Angel Pagan’s two-run, inside-the-park homer off Rafael Betancourt in the 10th inning. The Rockies closer, who was pitching for the first time since Tuesday because of a groin injury, will likely be re-evaluated before Sunday’s contest.

The series has featured two of the top position players in the National League in Rockies left fielder Carlos Gonzalez and Giants catcher Buster Posey - and neither has disappointed. Gonzalez has homered in three straight contests while Posey had three hits on Saturday to extend his hitting streak to nine games. Gonzalez is hitting 17-for-42 with six home runs and 13 RBIs over his last 11 contests.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rockies RH Jon Garland (3-5, 5.19 ERA) vs. Giants RH Matt Cain (3-2, 5.12)

Garland is facing the Giants for the first time since Sept. 9, 2010, when he played for San Diego. The 33-year-old right-hander is looking to snap a three-game losing streak after allowing five runs in six innings on Monday against Arizona. He’s 3-1 with a 3.41 ERA in five career starts against the Giants, and he’s pitched at least seven innings in four of the five outings. Garland is 1-6 with a 5.14 ERA in nine May starts since 2011.

Cain bounced back from a shaky outing against Colorado with seven strong innings versus Washington on Tuesday. He’s won his last three decisions, going 3-0 with a 3.45 ERA in his last four starts. Troy Tulowitzki is 19-for-56 with four homers against Cain, who is 16-7 with a 3.29 ERA in 29 career starts against the Rockies. He gave up six runs over 6 1/3 innings against the Rockies on May 16.

WALK-OFFS

1. Following Sunday’s series finale, the Giants will play 14 of their next 18 games on the road.

2. The Rockies are 16-8 when their starting pitcher works six or more innings.

3. Cain has allowed two runs or fewer in each of his last three starts at AT&T Park.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
