Colorado @ San Francisco preview
AT&T Park
Last Meeting ( May 25, 2013 ) Colorado 5, San Francisco 6
After suffering a heartbreaking loss, the Colorado Rockies look to bounce back in Sunday’s series finale against the San Francisco Giants. Colorado led 4-0 before the Giants capped their seventh walk-off win this season with Angel Pagan’s two-run, inside-the-park homer off Rafael Betancourt in the 10th inning. The Rockies closer, who was pitching for the first time since Tuesday because of a groin injury, will likely be re-evaluated before Sunday’s contest.
The series has featured two of the top position players in the National League in Rockies left fielder Carlos Gonzalez and Giants catcher Buster Posey - and neither has disappointed. Gonzalez has homered in three straight contests while Posey had three hits on Saturday to extend his hitting streak to nine games. Gonzalez is hitting 17-for-42 with six home runs and 13 RBIs over his last 11 contests.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rockies RH Jon Garland (3-5, 5.19 ERA) vs. Giants RH Matt Cain (3-2, 5.12)

The 33-year-old right-hander is looking to snap a three-game losing streak after allowing five runs in six innings on Monday against Arizona. He’s 3-1 with a 3.41 ERA in five career starts against the Giants, and he’s pitched at least seven innings in four of the five outings. Garland is 1-6 with a 5.14 ERA in nine May starts since 2011.
Cain bounced back from a shaky outing against Colorado with seven strong innings versus Washington on Tuesday. He’s won his last three decisions, going 3-0 with a 3.45 ERA in his last four starts. Troy Tulowitzki is 19-for-56 with four homers against Cain, who is 16-7 with a 3.29 ERA in 29 career starts against the Rockies. He gave up six runs over 6 1/3 innings against the Rockies on May 16.
