Baltimore @ Toronto preview
Rogers Centre
Last Meeting ( May 25, 2013 ) Baltimore 6, Toronto 5
Something about playing at the Rogers Centre brings out the best in Adam Jones. The Baltimore star will try to extend his home run streak to four games as he leads the Orioles into the finale of a four-game series with the host Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday. Baltimore has won two of three, with Jones going deep in every game. He mashed a solo home run off the facing of the third deck Saturday as Baltimore went up early and held on for a 6-5 victory.
Jones has been the catalyst for an offensive surge that has seen Baltimore belt nine home runs in its last three games, giving it a major league-best 68. The Orioles will look to add to that total against Toronto right-hander Chad Jenkins, who will be making his fifth major-league start. Jenkins is coming off a decent outing against the Boston Red Sox. He'll be opposed by second-year Orioles hurler Miguel Gonzalez, who defeated Toronto late last month but hasn't won since.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Orioles RH Miguel Gonzalez (2-2, 4.25 ERA) vs. Blue Jays RH Chad Jenkins (1-0, 3.60)
A thumb blister cost Gonzalez nearly three weeks earlier this month, but he looked sensational in his return. Gonzalez, who turns 29 on Monday, limited the New York Yankees to a pair of runs on five hits over seven innings but settled for a no-decision in a 3-2 defeat. Gonzalez earned a 4-3 win over Toronto on April 23 but is 0-1 with two no-decisions over his last three starts. The Mexico native is 2-1 with a 4.37 ERA in 22 2/3 career innings against the Blue Jays.
Jenkins has also missed time, dealing with shoulder inflammation that forced him to sit out the start of the season. The 25-year-old has been on a strict regimen as he works to regain full strength in the shoulder, and will likely be on a pitch count of no more than 90 pitches Sunday. Jenkins nicely worked his way out of trouble in his previous outing May 12, scattering seven hits while holding the powerful Boston lineup to two runs in five innings.
WALK-OFFS
1. Jenkins faced the Orioles once last season, surrendering four runs on six hits over 3 1/3 innings.
2. Toronto has eight pitchers on the disabled list, including starters Josh Johnson (right triceps inflammation) and J.A. Happ (sprained right knee, skull fracture) and relievers Darren Oliver (left shoulder strain), Sergio Santos (triceps strain, bone chips in elbow) and Dustin McGowan (right shoulder surgery).
3. Jones has eight home runs at the Rogers Centre since the beginning of 2012, more than any other visiting player in that span.
PREDICTION: Orioles 6, Blue Jays 4
