The Los Angeles Angels attempt to put their series with the Houston Astros behind them as the continue their eight-game homestand with a two-game set against the Chicago Cubs that begins Tuesday. Los Angeles started its homestand with two victories over the Dodgers, but had its six-game winning streak at Angel Stadium halted with a loss to Houston on Friday. The Angels proceeded to drop the next three contests, with the Astros completing the improbable sweep with a 2-1 triumph Monday.

Chicago is coming off a 3-2 homestand that concluded with back-to-back losses to the Arizona Diamondbacks in which it was outscored 20-8. The Cubs' bullpen faltered in the setbacks, surrendering a total of 10 runs in six innings. Chicago heads right back to Wrigley Field following the two games against the Angels for a seven-game homestand against National League Central rivals Pittsburgh and Cincinnati.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Cubs RH Scott Feldman (5-4, 2.82 ERA) vs. Angels RH Jered Weaver (1-1, 3.71)

Feldman is seeking his sixth win in seven decisions. The 30-year-old defeated the crosstown White Sox in his last outing, allowing two runs and six hits while striking out seven over six innings. Feldman owns a 4-6 record and 5.50 ERA in 20 career games (11 starts) against the Angels.

Weaver will be making his fourth start of the season and second since returning from a fractured left elbow. The 30-year-old showed no sign of rust against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday as he yielded one run and five hits in six innings, striking out seven without issuing a walk en route to his first win of the year. Weaver was victorious in his only career outing against the Cubs, allowing only two hits and striking out 11 over seven scoreless frames June 19, 2010 at Wrigley Field.

1. The Cubs are visiting Angel Stadium for the first time since 2004.

2. Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo has 29 extra-base hits, one shy of National League leader Carlos Gonzalez of Colorado. Rizzo is 9-for-30 (.300) with five doubles and two triples over his last six games.
