The Miami Marlins and New York Mets will be well-rested when they meet Saturday afternoon at Citi Field. Rain postponed the scheduled series opener on Friday, and weather also prevented the Mets from playing Thursday against Washington. Friday's marquee matchup of young stars remains in place as Miami's Jose Fernandez and New York's Matt Harvey were pushed back to Saturday.

The Marlins swept the Mets at home last weekend to improve to 6-3 in the season series. Miami is 10-41 against all other opponents, including three straight losses in Philadelphia earlier this week. New York split a pair in Washington prior to Thursday's postponement and has lost four of five overall.

PITCHING MATCHUPS: Marlins RH Jose Fernandez (3-3, 3.34 ERA) vs. Mets RH Matt Harvey (5-0, 2.17)

Fernandez lasted just four innings against the Mets on April 29 but was much better in his rematch last Saturday, allowing three hits and striking out eight in seven scoreless innings of an 8-1 victory. It was the third scoreless outing in 11 starts for the 20-year-old rookie, who is 3-1 with a 2.55 ERA in six appearances since that first meeting with New York.

Harvey remains unbeaten but has looked a bit more human of late. He had his worst start of the year at Miami on Sunday, when he was reached for a season-high four runs on a career-high 10 hits in five frames. The Marlins are hitting .378 against Harvey in two meetings. The 24-year-old has a 1.35 ERA in 11 career starts made with at least five days of rest.

WALK-OFFS

1. Friday's rainout was rescheduled as part of a single-admission doubleheader Sept. 14.

2. Marlins RHP Tom Koehler will oppose Mets LHP Jonathon Niese on Sunday.

3. Miami has just 29 home runs, easily the fewest in the National League. Twenty of those blasts have come on the road.
