Coors Field

Last Meeting ( Jun 14, 2013 ) Philadelphia 8, Colorado 7

Jonathan Papelbon has been one of the few constants for the Philadelphia Phillies, converting all 13 of his save chances. Getting to Papelbon has been the issue for Philadelphia's beleaguered bullpen, which sparkled with 4 2/3 scoreless innings in Friday's come-from-behind win over the host Colorado Rockies. The Phillies erased a five-run deficit to continue their dominance over the Rockies, improving to 12-3 in their last 15 at Coors Field and 28-6 in the last 34 matchups.

Colorado's offense held up its end of the bargain in its first game without shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, who is expected to be sidelined four to six weeks with a fractured rib. Carlos Gonzalez was considered questionable for Friday's game due to a bruised foot, but he went 4-for-4 and swatted his 19th homer to tie Philadelphia's Domonic Brown for the National League lead. Josh Rutledge was promoted from the minors to replace Tulowitzki and delivered a two-run homer.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Phillies RH Jonathan Pettibone (3-2, 3.70 ERA) vs. Rockies RH Tyler Chatwood (3-1, 2.17)

Pettibone was unbeaten and had not allowed more than three runs in any of his first seven starts, but the 22-year-old rookie has started to level off. He was touched for six runs - four earned - in 5 1/3 innings at Milwaukee last time out and also yielded four runs in a loss to Boston on May 30. Pettibone is 1-1 with a 5.32 ERA in his four road starts.

Chatwood had to skip his last turn due to soreness in his triceps, which forced him out of a June 3 start against Cincinnati after giving up one run in four innings. He had won three consecutive outings, allowing only one run in 17 2/3 innings, before striking out 10 and yielding two runs in six frames while settling for a no-decision vs. Houston on May 29.

WALK-OFFS

1. Phillies 3B Michael Young is 5-for-6 lifetime against Chatwood.

2. Chatwood has not allowed a homer in 33 2/3 innings after serving up nine in 64 2/3 frames a year ago.

3. Philadelphia had averaged a major league-worst 3.06 runs on the road before busting out Friday.

PREDICTION: Rockies 6, Phillies 5

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
