Seattle @ Los Angeles preview
Angel Stadium of Anaheim
Last Meeting ( Jun 17, 2013 ) Seattle 3, LA Angels 11
The Los Angeles Angels had a season-high 21 hits in the opener and look to continue their home dominance of the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday as this four-game set continues. Los Angeles has won four of its last five games after an 11-3 rout for its 27th win in the last 36 games against the Mariners at Angel Stadium. Seattle has been outscored 30-4 in three games in Anaheim this season.
Los Angeles moved past Seattle into third place in the American League West standings with Monday’s victory. The Mariners have been outscored 21-5 over their last two games and hope Jeremy Bonderman can silence the Angels’ offense after tossing eight shutouts innings in a no-decision against the Houston Astros in his last turn. Los Angeles outfielder Mike Trout scored his 200th career run in the opener to reach the milestone in 249 games – the fastest by anyone since Ted Williams (225 games) and Barney McCosky (236 games) both accomplished it in 1940.
