Last Meeting ( Jun 28, 2013 ) San Diego 9, Miami 2

After beginning their 10-game road trip in impressive fashion, the San Diego Padres will look to continue their dominance over the Miami Marlins on Saturday. Logan Forsythe belted a two-run homer among his three hits in Friday's series-opening 9-2 win as the Padres (40-40) evened their overall record with just their 15th victory in 37 road contests. San Diego, which has outscored Miami 20-3 en route to winning all four meetings this season, moved to within 2 1/2 games of National League West-leading Arizona.

Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-4 for the second straight game and has recorded at least one hit in seven of his last eight contests. Logan Morrison ripped an RBI triple for Miami, which had been playing some spirited baseball prior to Friday's dud. The Marlins saw their three-game winning streak come to an end and fell for just the fourth time in 11 contests.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Padres LH Eric Stults (6-5, 3.20 ERA) vs. Marlins RH Jacob Turner (1-0, 1.97)

Stults recorded a pair of no-decisions in his last two trips to the mound despite permitting two runs and seven hits in both outings. The 33-year-old pitched well versus Miami on May 7, allowing just one run on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings to lead his team to a 5-1 triumph. Stults has kept the ball in the park in nine of his last 10 starts.

Turner has been saddled with four consecutive no-decisions after winning his season debut on May 31. The 22-year-old has yielded just seven earned runs and 21 hits in his previous 25 innings, capped by a one-run, six-hit performance versus San Francisco last Saturday. Turner, who has yet to face the Padres in his career, has allowed one homer in 32 innings this season.

WALK-OFFS

1. Marlins rookie RF Marcell Ozuna, who is riding a seven-game hitting streak, collected a pair of hits in his previous outing versus Stults.

2. After going 0-for-10 in his previous two contests, Forsythe is 5-for-9 with three RBIs and three runs scored in his last two games.

3. Miami had yielded three or fewer runs in 10 straight games prior to Friday's setback.

PREDICTION: Padres 5, Marlins 1

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
