The Arizona Diamondbacks continue a 10-game road trip when they open a series at the Atlanta Braves on Friday night. Arizona enters on a high note after picking up a 3-2 win in 11 innings at Washington on Thursday to snap a three-game slide. The comeback victory boosted the Diamondbacks to 9-2 in extra-inning affairs and gave them five wins in their last eight games overall.
The Braves are coming off a 2-3 road trip that ended with a walk-off loss in Kansas City on Wednesday. Despite dropping six of their last nine games, their lead in the National League East sits at 5 1/2 games. It will be "Chipper Jones Night" at Turner Field, as Atlanta will honor the recently retired third baseman, who debuted with the Braves in 1993 and played his entire career with the organization.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Diamondbacks RH Randall Delgado (0-1, 4.50 ERA) vs. Braves RH Julio Teheran (5-4, 3.32)
A part of the Justin Upton trade in January, Delgado had a 3.95 ERA in 25 games (24 starts) over two seasons with the Braves. During that time he was 2-6 with a 3.71 mark at Turner Field. After his first start with Arizona on June 18 went very well, Delgado was a bit more ordinary his last time out, giving up four runs (three earned) in five innings of a 4-2 loss to Cincinnati.
Teheran has been unscored upon in two of his four starts this month and gave up just two runs in 6 1/3 innings last Friday in Milwaukee. The youngster has 36 strikeouts against only four walks in his last five appearances. Teheran has been the victim of poor run support at times this year, including a May 14 start at Arizona, when he suffered the loss despite giving up two runs in six solid frames.
WALK-OFFS
1. Arizona manager Kirk Gibson picked up his 251st win Thursday to move into third place all alone on the franchise list.
2. The Diamondbacks took two of three from the Braves at home last month.
3. Atlanta IF Ramiro Pena had season-ending surgery Thursday to repair a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder.
