Philadelphia @ Los Angeles preview
Dodger Stadium
Last Meeting ( Jun 27, 2013 ) Philadelphia 4, LA Dodgers 6
The Los Angeles Dodgers were woeful underachievers for the first 2 1/2 months of the season but they have turned their play up a few notches and will carry a six-game winning streak into Friday's matchup with the visiting Philadelphia Phillies. Matt Kemp and Cuban rookie Yasiel Puig played together in the outfield for only the second time Thursday and sparked the Dodgers to a 6-4 victory. Puig drove in the tying and go-ahead runs and Kemp had two hits, two steals and an RBI.
The Phillies piled up 14 hits - 12 against Zack Greinke - but also hit into a pair of inning-ending double plays before their beleaguered bullpen couldn't hold a one-run lead. Chase Utley extended his hitting streak to six games with a 3-for-5 night and Delmon Young had the seventh four-hit game of his career and first since 2010. Domonic Brown clubbed his 21st homer to tie Colorado's Carlos Gonzalez for the National League lead.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Phillies LH John Lannan (0-2, 5.84 ERA) vs. Dodgers LH Chris Capuano (2-4, 4.09)
Lannan has had mixed results since returning from a two-month stay on the disabled list. He gave up two runs over five innings against Washington in his first outing but was tagged for six runs (four earned) over five-plus innings by the New York Mets on Sunday. Lannan has had success against the Dodgers, posting a 4-1 record and 3.93 ERA in six career starts.
Capuano has pitched superbly following a three-week stint on the DL, not allowing a run in 11 innings in two starts. He limited the New York Yankees to three hits over six innings before coming back on three days' rest to blank San Diego on four hits over five innings. Both those outings were away from Dodger Stadium, where Capuano has struggled to a 1-3 record and 8.31 ERA in four starts this year.
