Rookie phenom Yasiel Puig shows no signs of slowing down, and neither do the surging Los Angeles Dodgers. The 22-year-old Puig is hitting .443 with eight home runs since being called up June 3, helping the Dodgers pull within 2 1/2 games of first-place Arizona in the National League West. Los Angeles looks for its 10th win in its last 11 games Wednesday against the host Colorado Rockies, who have lost five of their last seven.

The Rockies are eager to turn the page after Tuesday’s 8-0 loss, when they fell two games under .500 and saw right fielder Michael Cuddyer’s hitting streak end at 27 games. Center fielder Dexter Fowler was placed on the disabled list with a sore right wrist before Tuesday’s contest, and he’ll be out at least until July 11. Fowler’s injury is another blow for the struggling Rockies’ offense, which is without injured shortstop Troy Tulowitzki (ribs) for another 3-4 weeks.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Dodgers RH Zack Greinke (5-2, 3.94 ERA) vs. Rockies RH Tyler Chatwood (4-1, 2.13)

Greinke earned his second consecutive win last Thursday against the Phillies despite yielding four earned runs on 12 hits in seven innings. Carlos Gonzalez is 5-for-12 with a home run against Greinke, who is 1-1 with a 5.18 ERA in six career starts against the Rockies. He allowed four runs in 5 1/3 innings against Colorado on June 1 at Coors Field.

Chatwood continued to impress last Thursday, when he tossed six innings of one-run ball against the Mets. The 23-year-old right-hander has given up more than two earned runs just once in nine starts this season. Chatwood pitched six scoreless innings against the Dodgers on April 29, and he’s 3-2 with a 3.00 ERA in five career starts against Los Angeles.

1. Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez is batting .469 (23-for-49) during his 13-game hitting streak.

2. Colorado activated RHP reliever Edgmer Escalona from the disabled list to replace Fowler on the roster.

3. The Dodgers acquired RHP Carlos Marmol from the Cubs for RHP Matt Guerrier, who was designated for assignment Sunday.
