The Minnesota Twins attempt to complete a sweep Wednesday afternoon when they visit the Los Angeles Angels for the finale of their three-game series. Minnesota posted a roller-coaster 10-3 victory Tuesday, rallying late to take a lead and squandering it before erupting for seven runs in the 10th inning. Chris Herrmann provided the big blow in the extra frame as he belted his first career grand slam to help the Twins improve to 4-0 against the Angels this season.
Minnesota has won six of its last seven games, including four of five since the All-Star break. The loss was the third in a row for Los Angeles at home, where it had won its previous four contests. The Angels have lost two straight home meetings with the Twins after winning the previous five.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Twins RH Mike Pelfrey (4-7, 5.40 ERA) vs. Angels RH Jered Weaver (4-5, 3.30)
Pelfrey has won only one of his last 11 starts but has allowed three runs or fewer in eight of those outings. The 29-year-old settled for a no-decision against the Cleveland Indians on Friday after yielding two runs over 5 2/3 innings. Pelfrey improved to 3-0 lifetime versus the Angels on April 16, when he gave up four runs in five frames.
Weaver scattered four hits over 6 2/3 scoreless innings against the Oakland Athletics on Friday for his third win in four starts. The 30-year-old has yielded fewer than two runs in four of his last five outings. Weaver has had little trouble with Minnesota during his career, going 7-2 with a 3.58 ERA in 13 meetings.
