Miami @ Colorado preview
Coors Field
Last Meeting ( Jul 23, 2013 ) Miami 4, Colorado 2
The Miami Marlins will continue to audition their top prospects on the big stage when they visit the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday in the third contest of a four-game series. Two more Marlins - Christian Yelich and Jake Marisnick - made their major-league debuts in Tuesday's 4-2 victory, bringing the total players participating in their first big-league game for Miami this season to eight. The Marlins had five rookies in the lineup Tuesday with Yelich, the No. 23 pick in the 2010 draft, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
Colorado does not resemble a team contending for a National League West title by losing two straight to the worst team in the NL, which also owns the worst road record in baseball (16-34). While the Rockies' pitching - usually their Achilles' heel - has kept them in most games, the offense has averaged 2.4 runs in their last 15 contests. Colorado went 6-9 during that span to fall five games behind the red-hot Los Angeles Dodgers in the West.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Marlins RH Jacob Turner (3-2, 2.44 ERA) vs. Rockies LH Jorge De La Rosa (9-5, 3.12)
Turner allowed two runs - both solo home runs - and matched a season high with four walks in a 2-0 loss at Milwaukee on Friday after yielding one long ball in his other eight starts. The 22-year-old Saint Charles, Mo., native, who is 5-8 with a 3.91 ERA in 22 career games, has allowed two runs or fewer in seven outings this season and earned a complete-game victory over San Diego on June 29. Turner has never faced the Rockies or any of their players.
De La Rosa allowed one run, five hits and three walks in six innings and did not take the loss in Colorado's 3-1 setback to the Chicago Cubs on Friday. The 32-year-old Mexican has allowed three runs or fewer in each of his last seven starts, but is only 2-2 during that span. De La Rosa is 3-4 with a 6.07 ERA and 1.67 WHIP in nine games (eight starts) against Miami, but hasn't faced them since 2010.
