San Francisco @ Cincinnati preview
AT&T Park
Last Meeting ( Jul 22, 2013 ) Cincinnati 11, San Francisco 0
Both teams figure to be well-rested Tuesday when the San Francisco Giants and the Cincinnati Reds meet at AT&T Park for a rare traditional doubleheader. The Reds are hoping to build on their performance in Monday's 11-0 victory, when they opened their 12-game road trip with 17 hits and received a complete game from Bronson Arroyo. “This was about as good as you can get,” Reds manager Dusty Baker said. “It could be a good sign for the rest of the year.”With the Reds jumping to an early lead, both managers pulled their regulars early in anticipation of Tuesday’s twin bill. The Giants are listed as the home team for both contests, but the Reds will bat last in the second game, which is a makeup of a game from a July 4 rainout in Cincinnati. Giants manager Bruce Bochy enters the doubleheader one win shy of 1,500 for his career.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Reds RH Greg Reynolds (2013 debut) vs. Giants LH Barry Zito (4-7, 4.88)
Reynolds is making his first major-league appearance since Sept. 25, 2011, when he worked as a reliever for Colorado. The 28-year-old native of the San Francisco area started for the International League in last week’s Triple-A All-Star Game after going 10-2 with a 2.54 ERA. The second overall pick of the 2006 draft is 0-1 with a 15.88 ERA in three career games (one start) against the Giants.
Zito looks to bounce back after allowing four runs over two innings last Sunday against the Padres. “My concentration wasn't where it should be,” Zito told reporters. "I threw too many pitches in the middle of the plate.” Jay Bruce is 5-for-15 with a home run against the 35-year-old lefty, who is 3-5 with a 6.00 ERA in 13 career games (12 starts) against the Reds.
