Last Meeting ( Aug 12, 2014 ) Arizona 0, Cleveland 0

The Arizona Diamondbacks and Cleveland Indians will complete their two-game interleague series in one fell swoop as they square off in a doubleheader at Progressive Field on Wednesday. Cleveland took a 1-0 lead in what was to be the opener Tuesday, but the contest was halted by rain in the top of the fourth inning and postponed after a lengthy delay. The Indians gained in the standings without officially playing, climbing within five games of first-place Kansas City in the AL Central.

Cleveland also moved within 4 1/2 contests of division rival Detroit and Seattle for the second wild-card spot as the Tigers were defeated by Pittsburgh while the Mariners topped Toronto. Arizona is beginning a 10-game road trip after completing a 4-6 homestand with a 5-3 loss to Colorado on Sunday. The Diamondbacks are only two games under .500 on the road (26-28) as opposed to a disappointing 25-39 record at home.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Diamondbacks LH Vidal Nuno (2-8, 5.01 ERA) vs. Indians RH Josh Tomlin (5-8, 4.68)

Nuno remains in search of his first victory since being acquired from the New York Yankees as he is 0-3 with a 4.05 ERA in six starts. The 27-year-old is coming off his worst outing for Arizona, a 6-2 loss to Kansas City on Thursday in which he surrendered five runs and seven hits in four innings. Nuno won his only career start against the Indians on May 13, 2013, scattering three hits over five scoreless frames at Cleveland in his second major-league appearance.

Tomlin was battered for six runs - five earned - and eight hits over 4 1/3 innings of a loss to Cincinnati on Aug. 5, prompting manager Terry Francona to remove him from the rotation. The 29-year-old made a relief appearance against the Yankees in New York on Friday, yielding two hits in 1 1/3 scoreless frames. Tomlin made one previous start versus Arizona in his career and settled for a no-decision after allowing two runs over seven innings.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
