The San Francisco Giants aim for their first series sweep since May 3-5 on Sunday when they face the Miami Marlins, who have lost 10 of their last 13. San Francisco began the set as the second-lowest scoring team in the majors since the All-Star break, but it erupted for 20 runs over the last two contests. The Giants will likely be without second baseman Marco Scutaro, who left Saturday’s 6-4 win with a stiff lower back.

The Marlins continue to be pleased by the play of second baseman Donovan Solano, who has 16 RBIs over his last 21 games. The 25-year-old lost his starting job to Derek Dietrich after a slow start, but his average has climbed to .265 while batting second over the last three games. The Marlins have used 10 different batters in the second spot in the order this season, and they’re hoping Solano can be a long-term answer in front of No. 3 hitter Giancarlo Stanton.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Giants LH Madison Bumgarner (11-7, 2.73 ERA) vs. Marlins RH Tom Koehler (3-8, 4.62)

Bumgarner saw his streak of pitching seven-plus innings end at 10 games against Washington on Tuesday, when a lengthy rain delay ended his night after four frames. The 24-year-old has allowed one earned run or fewer in four of his last five starts and owns a 1.64 ERA over that stretch. Stanton is 6-for-8 against Bumgarner, who is 0-2 with a 5.00 ERA in three career starts against Miami.

Koehler lost for the third time in his last four starts on Monday, when he surrendered five runs in 5 1/3 innings against Kansas City. The 27-year-old is 1-4 with a 5.61 ERA in six starts at home this season. He earned his first career win against the Giants on June 20, allowing one run over seven innings in the Marlins’ 2-1 victory.

WALK-OFFS

1. Marlins 3B Placido Polanco missed Saturday’s game after being hit in the helmet in the series opener. He will be re-evaluated on Sunday.

2. The Giants have won 12 of their last 13 games when scoring at least four runs.

3. Miami hosts the streaking Los Angeles Dodgers for four games beginning Monday, while San Francisco heads home for a three-game series against Boston.

PREDICTION: Giants 4, Marlins 1
