The Texas Rangers are not even halfway through a 24-game stretch against teams under .500 as they try to build breathing room in the American League West. The Rangers, who have won 14 of their last 16 contests, look to continue taking advantage when they host the Seattle Mariners on Friday in the opener of a three-game series. Adrian Beltre is batting .426 with 15 RBIs in his last 16 games for Texas, which leads Oakland by 1 1/2 games in the West.

The Mariners won two of three on their last visit to Texas in early July but have dropped 12 of 18 overall after losing the last two at Tampa Bay. Seattle’s Kyle Seager is hitting .418 with 10 doubles, two homers and eight RBIs in 13 games against the Rangers this season. Texas, which is 8-1 in its last nine games, plays the Mariners (55-65) six times over its next 12 contests.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
