Marlins Park

Last Meeting ( Aug 24, 2013 ) Colorado 0, Miami 3

The Miami Marlins hope to keep the momentum going after another sparking performance by Jose Fernandez when they host the Colorado Rockies on Sunday in the rubber match of their three-game series. Fernandez won his fifth straight decision Saturday as Miami prevailed 3-0, but the Marlins are 1-6 following his last seven starts in which they've won six times. The Rockies are 3-6 on their 10-game road trip and have lost 28 of their last 38 contests away from home.

As the Rockies fall further out of playoff contention, a pair of personal pursuits will take center stage. Todd Helton has 2,496 career hits while Michael Cuddyer went 2-for-4 on Saturday to raise his average to .329, seven points behind St. Louis' Yadier Molina for the National League batting lead. Colorado's Jorge De La Rosa is 6-0 with a 1.58 ERA in eight daytime starts and will oppose Jacob Turner, who is winless (0-3) in his last seven outings in a rematch of the Rockies' 2-1 victory on July 24.

Turner amazingly yielded only four runs (three earned) in five innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers despite allowing 10 hits and walking five while benefiting from three double plays in Miami's 6-4 loss Tuesday. It was the second consecutive no-decision for the 22-year-old St. Charles, Mo., native, who walked six in five innings of the Marlins' 5-2 victory at Kansas City on Aug. 14. Turner yielded two runs and six hits while walking only two in six frames against the Rockies last month.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
