San Francisco's Buster Posey has treated Coors Field like a personal playground throughout his career, while teammate Hunter Pence was a late arrival to the party. The red-hot duo tries to continue their onslaught at arguably the most hitter-friendly stadium in history when the Giants visit the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday. Posey and Pence have helped the Giants build a four-game bulge atop the National League wild card standings and remain two games behind Los Angeles in the West.

Posey is hitting .406 with eight homers, 27 RBIs and 23 runs scored in 36 career games in Denver after going 3-for-5 with a homer, four RBIs and three runs Tuesday to help San Francisco erase a six-run deficit in a 12-7 victory. Pence added two hits to extend his hitting streak to 15 games and is 15-for-30 with four home runs, nine RBIs and 12 runs in eight contests at Coors Field this season after hitting .250 there in his first 35 games. San Francisco's Ryan Vogelsong is coming off his first victory since Aug. 6 and opposes rookie Christian Bergman, who had control issues in his last start.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Giants RH Ryan Vogelsong (8-9, 3.73 ERA) vs. Rockies RH Christian Bergman (1-2, 5.74)

Vogelsong allowed two runs and four hits while striking out seven in seven innings in a 13-2 victory over Milwaukee on Friday. The 37-year-old North Carolina native had received zero runs of support in his previous five outings at home. Vogelsong is 5-2 with a 4.02 ERA in 15 games against Colorado - 0-2, 9.37 with a .380 batting average against in his last four starts - and is 2-2, 6.66 in eight contests at Coors Field after yielding five runs and three homers in 1 1/3 innings of an 8-2 loss April 21.

Bergman received a no-decision after permitting one run and two hits, but walked five and struck out five in 5 1/3 innings of the Rockies' 5-2 loss in Arizona on Friday - his fifth career start. "He did a good job,'' manager Walt Weiss told reporters about the 26-year-old Californian. " He had some walks early, but pitched around it. He didn't get hit hard." Bergman left a tie game after allowing three runs and eight hits - two homers - in six innings in Colorado's 5-4 victory over San Francisco on June 14.

WALK-OFFS

1. Giants OF Michael Morse on Tuesday missed his second straight game because of a strained oblique and remains day-to-day.

2. San Francisco on Tuesday called up five players from Triple-A Fresno, including RHP Brett Bochy, son of manager Bruce, as they became the eighth father-son manager-player tandem in major-league history.

3. The teams meet for the final time in 2014 after splitting 18 encounters as the Rockies try to win a season series for the first time since 2008.
