Last Meeting ( Aug 30, 2013 ) Philadelphia 6, Chi. Cubs 5

Cliff Lee attempts to continue his dominance of Chicago hitters on Saturday, when the Philadelphia Phillies visit the Cubs for the second contest of a three-game series. Lee is 4-0 with a 1.77 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in six career outings against Chicago and is looking to help Ryne Sandberg win his second straight contest at Wrigley Field as a major-league manager. The Phillies overcame a five-run deficit for a 6-5 win on Friday.

Sandberg received a rousing ovation by the Chicago fans when he took the lineup card to home plate prior to Friday’s contest. He was passed over twice for the Cubs’ managerial job - including when Dale Sveum was hired following the 2011 campaign - and is 9-6 with Philadelphia since being tabbed as the interim replacement for the fired Charlie Manuel. Anthony Rizzo (21 homers) and Nate Schierholtz (20) both homered in the opener to give the Cubs their first pair of left-handed hitters with 20-plus blasts in the same season since Rick Monday and Billy Williams in 1973.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
