Boston @ Los Angeles preview

Dodger Stadium

Last Meeting ( Aug 24, 2013 ) Boston 4, LA Dodgers 2

The one-year anniversary of the trade that reshaped two organizations is Sunday, and the schedule makers have decided to bring those two teams together. Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford and the Los Angeles Dodgers will host their former teammates on the Boston Red Sox in the rubber match of a three-game set on Sunday. Crawford had a pair of hits in the series opener and Gonzalez delivered a two-run double in Saturday’s loss.

Those two, along with Josh Beckett and Nick Punto, were sent from the Red Sox to Los Angeles in exchange for James Loney and four prospects on Aug. 25, 2012. Only Rubby De La Rosa and Allen Webster remain in the Boston organization, and both have been up and down from Triple-A as the Red Sox have built a 76-55 record - good enough for a tie for first place in the American League East. Gonzalez and Crawford have combined with a strong pitching staff to put Los Angeles comfortably ahead of the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NL West.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
