Last Meeting ( Sep 6, 2013 ) Toronto 6, Minnesota 5

It doesn't mean much in the overall standings, but the Toronto Blue Jays seem intent on finishing a disappointing season on a strong note. J.A. Happ will look to contribute to the Blue Jays' recent hot streak as he toes the rubber in the second contest of a three-game series against the host Minnesota Twins on Saturday. Toronto broke out to a five-run lead before holding on to edge the Twins 6-5 in Friday's series opener.

The victory improved the Blue Jays to 3-1 on their six-game road swing and gave them eight wins in their last 11 games. The rotation has been the biggest factor of late, with the starters allowing three runs or fewer in eight consecutive games - the club's longest such streak since reeling off 11 straight wins in June. Happ will be opposed Saturday by veteran Kevin Correia, who is coming off back-to-back solid starts but has struggled against Toronto.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Blue Jays LH J.A. Happ (3-5, 5.54 ERA) vs. Twins RH Kevin Correia (9-10, 4.18)

Happ may be pitching for a spot in the rotation next season - and if his previous three outings are any indication, he'll likely be on the outside looking in. The 30-year-old Illinois native has been touched for 14 runs over 14 innings in that span, losing all three games as the Blue Jays managed just four runs over that same stretch. Happ is 2-1 but has an ugly 6.27 ERA in seven starts away from Toronto.

Correia's job also may be on the line, but the 33-year-old native of San Diego has fared far better than his upcoming counterpart. He threw seven scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Kansas City Royals on Aug. 27, then followed it up by limiting Texas to a run on five hits over seven frames of a 4-2 triumph. Correia is 1-2 with a 6.16 ERA in three career starts and two relief appearances against the Blue Jays.

WALK-OFFS

1. Toronto SS Jose Reyes is 10-for-25 with a homer and five RBIs lifetime against Correia.

2. Happ is 1-2 with a 7.36 ERA in three starts against the American League Central in 2013.

3. Toronto leads the season series 3-1 and has won eight straight games in Minnesota.

PREDICTION: Twins 7, Blue Jays 4

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
