Cleveland @ Chicago preview
Guaranteed Rate Field
Last Meeting ( Sep 14, 2013 ) Cleveland 8, Chi. White Sox 1
The Cleveland Indians' domination over the Chicago White Sox almost single-handedly has kept them in the American League playoff race. Visiting Cleveland, which looks to complete a four-game sweep and extend its winning streak against Chicago to 12 games on Sunday, is 14-2 in the season series - its most wins versus its division rival since going 14-8 in 1952. The Indians have outscored the White Sox 25-5 over the first three games of the series - including an 8-1 triumph on Saturday - to move within one game of Tampa Bay for the second AL wild card.
Cleveland looks to defeat Chris Sale for the fourth time in as many meetings this season, as it tagged the ace for 16 runs over 17 1/3 innings in the first three encounters. The White Sox have scored only six runs during their five-game losing streak and have dropped 14 of their last 16. The Indians have outscored Chicago 99-50 in the 16 meetings this season.
