Chicago @ Tampa Bay preview

Tropicana Field

Last Meeting ( Aug 4, 2018 ) Chi. White Sox 2, Tampa Bay 1

After sweeping three straight from one opponent to begin their homestand, the Tampa Bay Rays hope to avoid suffering the same fate when they host the Chicago White Sox in the finale of their three-game set Sunday afternoon. The White Sox won the series opener in 10 innings and utilized a ninth-inning error to steal a 2-1 triumph Saturday night.

The Rays, who took three in a row from the Los Angeles Angels to start the week, have managed nine hits - seven singles and two doubles - in the series and Chicago pitching has amassed 19 strikeouts. James Shields, Tampa Bay's franchise leader in wins (87), starts (217), strikeouts (1,250) and several other categories, will make his second career start at Tropicana Field as an opponent when he goes for the White Sox. The Rays counter with Hunter Wood as they embark on another bullpen day on the mound. Chicago has matched its longest winning streak of the year at three straight and it is 5-3 in its last eight games versus American League East opponents.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
